They city of Saskatoon is located in South Central Saskatchewan, on Treaty 6 territory and the homeland of the Metis. The city’s name is based on the Cree word misâskwatômina or Saskatoon Berry, an abundant native plant.  Located on a bend in the South Saskatchewan River, Saskatoon is also known as “Paris of the Prairies” and “Bridge City” due its nine river crossings which sprawl across the picturesque Meewasin River Valley which are a made of a collection of popular riverbank parks.

Home to Wanuskewin Heritage Park (A National Historic Site of Canada and UNESCO applicant), the University of Saskatchewan, the Remai Modern (a museum of modern and contemporary art), a bustling downtown core, and burgeoning food scene, Saskatoon offers a variety of arts and culture for visitors to experience during their stay.
